Introducing our Shining Examples page

In addition to the more detailed articles below, we now have a dedicated page that highlights many examples of associations that are taking climate-wise action.

These fabulous examples, many the first of their kind in Australia, are listed on the Shining Examples page to inspire and motivate all associations and members.

Examples range from education and training to embedding climate-wise action within your own strategies and plans. These future-minded actions are by peak bodies through to local sports clubs, and will open your eyes to the opportunities. The diversity of interests and actions demonstrates that all associations, in any field of endeavour, can and must get active.

Here’s just a couple that are highlighted:

Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating has long recognised the climate impact of its sector with speciality industrial gas emissions and opportunities for improvement. Offerings for members include the innovative podcast ‘What you need to know about HVAC&R and Climate Change’. It has a new plan for transition to low emissions with its ‘industry blueprint, PRIME: for the future’. AIRAH’s commitment to reducing emissions is evidenced by its own measurement in declining annual emissions.

Horse SA provides services for horse owners and the South Australian horse community. A highly practical Action Plan that’s relevant across Australia includes a comprehensive checklist on what can be done to manage the dire climate change impact on horses. This example has proven one of the most popular.
