About Us

ClimateWise Associations is a free resource aimed at helping associations across Australia become more active in planning for the impacts of climate change, take charge of their destiny and support their members.

All materials and tools are free of charge. No hidden costs or marketing. We just want everyone to become more climate-wise.

Members will also find our materials and tools applicable to their own operations.

The program is the initiative of Australian co-founders and an expanding team of people who believe associations deserve support in addressing climate change. The program is not affiliated or bound by any business, government, association or other organisation.

Our vision

Our vision is that associations across Australia tailor and implement effective policies and strategies to address climate change impacts and reduce emissions. This needs to be in ways relevant to their own operations, across their membership and fields, in line with the global Paris Agreement and targets.
Associations know their sector and are best placed to manage the costs, risks and opportunities. This self-help hub has expert guides and tools ready for all associations to use.
Members too can help advocate and participate in association’s actions.

We look forward to thousands of associations becoming climate-wise

The team

This program is the brainchild of Helen Millicer and Gail Greatorex, two professional colleagues with a desire to help associations fight the negative impacts of climate change. It was Australia’s Black Summer season of megafires in 2019/20 and lack of preparedness that galvanised the Melbourne-based  friends to act.

Drawing on professional experience, Helen and Gail have consulted many key stakeholder individuals and associations, held roundtable discussions and liaised with those developing comparable programs overseas. Read more in this interview for Bank Australia.

They have been joined by a growing team eager to assist, debate and share.
